At Toua, your safety is our top priority. While we work hard to keep the community secure, it’s important that you also take steps to protect yourself online and offline. Please read and follow these safety tips when using Toua.

1. Protect Your Personal Information

  • Don’t share sensitive details like your home address, phone number, workplace, or financial information.
  • Keep conversations inside Toua until you feel comfortable moving elsewhere.
  • Be cautious if someone asks for money, gifts, or financial help.

2. Stay Alert for Red Flags

Watch out for users who:

  • Refuse to meet in person or video chat.
  • Pressure you for personal information too quickly.
  • Ask for financial help, investments, or “urgent” assistance.
  • Use aggressive, abusive, or manipulative behaviour.

3. Meeting in Person

  • Meet in a public place like a café, park, or restaurant.
  • Tell a friend or family member where you’re going and who you’re meeting.
  • Arrange your own transportation — don’t rely on someone you just met.
  • Trust your instincts: if something feels off, leave.

4. Online Communication

  • Use Toua’s chat system instead of giving out your personal phone number or email right away.
  • Don’t send intimate photos or videos to someone you don’t fully trust.
  • Be aware that anything shared online can potentially be saved or shared.

5. Block & Report

  • Use the block feature to stop unwanted contact.
  • Report suspicious behaviour directly in the app so our team can investigate.
  • We may suspend or remove users who violate our Community Guidelines.

6. Stay in Control

  • Move at your own pace. You are never obligated to meet, chat, or share details if you don’t feel ready.
  • Respect your own boundaries — and expect others to respect them too.

7. For LGBTQ+ and Diverse Communities

  • If you live in an area where LGBTQ+ or other identities may be at risk, be mindful of what personal details you share.
  • Use Toua’s privacy settings to control your visibility.

Final Reminder

Toua is a place for meaningful and safe connections. By following these tips, you help create a trusted environment for yourself and others.
